What are the CPU requirements for Chivalry 2?
The developers of Chivalry 2 recommend that you run the game on a system powered by either an Intel i7 6700 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3500x. Equivalent or better processors will of course also do it.
The i7 6700 is a 4-core, 8-thread CPU with a maximum clock speed of 4GHz. The Ryzen 5 3500X is a 6-core, 6-thread processor with a maximum clock speed of 4.1 GHz.
The 3500X was only released in China, and while it’s possible to find it in other parts of the world, it’s certainly not practical.
We don’t recommend going with any of these processors if you’re looking for something new.
Although they can offer you a playable Chivalry 2 experience, both chips are quite old and already showing signs of being outdated. We recommend going with something newer.
By choosing a processor from a newer generation, you not only get better performance, but you also get the latest architecture, features and technologies. More future-proof, in other words.
Best CPU for Chivalry 2 – Intel Core i5-13600K
If you want to enjoy Chivalry 2 (and other modern titles like it) at its very best, but don’t want to break the bank doing so, we recommend using the Core i5-13600K processor.
This is a 14-core, 20-thread processor that was released by Intel in late 2022 as part of their first 13th generation Alder Lake CPU release. It has the hybrid core architecture Intel introduced to us earlier in 2021.

Intel Core i5-13600K
Basic speed
P cores 3.5 GHz / E cores 2.6 GHz
Increase the speed
P cores 5.1 GHz / E cores 3.9 GHz
The 13600K has 6 performance cores with hyperthreading enabled and 6 smaller efficiency cores without hyperthreading.
This makes it a very versatile processor in that it uses minimal power while idling or handling light workloads, but soaks up more power to deliver powerful performance when needed.
The Core i5-13600K has a maximum clock speed of 5.1 GHz, allowing it to deliver top-level single-threaded performance for workloads such as gaming.
With this processor you will be able to run Chivalry 2 at maximum visual settings and high frame rates, provided of course you pair it with a suitably powerful GPU.
While the 5.1GHz clock speed offers plenty of performance as is, you can always overclock it to see noticeable improvements since this is an unlockable “K” processor.
You need a motherboard chipset that supports overclocking and a powerful cooling solution to compensate for the increased heat generation.
Last word
The 13600K is the best CPU for Chivalry 2. It has tons of cores and threads, well above average clock speeds, and is competitively priced for the performance it delivers.
If we consider gaming performance alone, the 13600K is only marginally inferior to the Core i7 and Core i9 alternatives, but it retails at a fraction of the price, meaning it offers exceptional value for budget-conscious gamers.
