Yes, you heard right. Snapchat My AI can’t generate essays, but it can do many things that Snapchat users love, such as:
- Plan trips,
- Recommend birthday gift ideas,
- Write poems and haikus,
- Suggest recipes and more.

My AI was designed as a companion for every Snapchat user who strikes up a conversation with it. Snapchat says the point of the new feature, called “My AI,” is to give users a way to communicate with an AI when they don’t have any human contacts available. My AI is a mobile-friendly adaptation of Snapchat’s ChatGPT, and it’s really basic right now.
As ChatGPT has evolved into a work tool, Snapchat’s My AI is taking on the role of an online alter ego. It even has its own “profile” page that mimics the layout of a typical user’s page. Bitmoji can easily stand out from the crowd thanks to its unique design.

Snapchat’s My AI profile setup suggests the company wants users to consider the chatbot as an extra friend. If you’re looking for a search engine, look elsewhere.
What should you not use Snapchat My AI for? Snapchat discourages using My AI to create anything that violates our Community Guidelines, including but not limited to political, sexual, harassing or misleading content, spam, malware, and content that promotes violence, self-harm, or human trafficking.
